Politics and Religion in Contemporary Mali: What About Women's Rights?

The presentation covers topics on i) Islam in Africa; ii) War in Mali: Religion or Politics?; and  iii) Islam and Women's Rights in Mali. The presentation was given by Dr. Fatou Sow to a group of 25 young women leaders, and emerging leaders  from Syria, Sudan, Iraq, Tunisia, Egypt, and Libya at the Feminist Leadership & Political Participation workshop held in Cairo, 13-20 January 2013 and organized by Women Living Under Muslim Laws International Solidarity Network.
